Company history

Material Leadership is a new venture founded by Ron Hurst. Ron has a passion for leading and teaching others how to lead well.

 

The idea for Material Leadership came shortly after Ron completed a Master of Science in Leadership and Management in 2006 when Ron recognized how important is was to give back to others.

 

The word Material has several meanings including the hands on nature of effective leadership. Every leader must be willing to roll up their sleeves from time to time and demonstrate their commitment to the team first hand. Material also relates to Ron's background as a Metallurgical Engineer where he first was fascinated with materials and how they worked together to create products and value. Equally important how they failed and why so that they could be restored, strengthened, redesigned for success. In this regard we are talking a metaphor for leadership
